I0n1c (iPhone Dev Team) gets an untethered iOS 5.1Jailbreak, works on iPad 3!
iPhone Dev Team member i0n1c has announced that he has made a successful iOS 5.1 jailbreak on iPad 2. Also he has posted some pictures on twitter to confirm this.
Ion1c is the jailbreaker who made the famous untethered 4.3.1 jailbreak. We don’t know much about the exploit yet, but I’m sure that it is an untethered jailbreak that will work for all devices on iOS 5.1, including iPhone 4S. Still not yet confirmed.
From the ion1c hints, ”Anyway so maybe the iPad 3 will not be jailbroken tomorrow, but on Monday or whenever I get my iPad 3.”, It looks like that the news exploit is a OS exploit that will even work for the iPad 3 scheduled for release tomorrow.

I hope this jailbreak(untethered) for ipad3(wi-fi&4g) is sooner than later,and will I run into problems since I have no sim card in my iPad3 since I only use wi-fi and I could not get a wifi only ipad3(32GB) so had to get the wi-fi & 4g(32GB) instead, but getting back to the question will I have problems with no sim card in my ipad3?

Well, I think the jailbreak will be arriving no sooner than end of April, or probably in the first week of May, since it’s under testings now. I guess you’ll not have any such problems of “No Sim card” in the device and you’ll able to enjoy all the features like the way you used to be…
That “no sirm card” problem occurs only on those devices that are not factory unlocked and when users try of use any sim card other than the carrier they contracted with.
SO if yo have a factory unlocked device it would work fine…
